WHAT WE'RE DOING:
My mom Elisa was born in Aguadilla Puerto Rico, where my sister Jillian and I spent most of our childhood, so of course we want to do everything we can to support our beloved pueblo post-Hurricane Maria. The neighborhood where our family lives in town is still without electricity. Puerto Rico is usually full of lights this time of year so we want to give at least one neighborhood something to celebrate.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
We’re inviting you to join us! Will you purchase a light as your contribution? Once you purchase a light from LuminAID, it will be shipped to us and we will bring it personally into the hands of the people in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico this November -- to people who have been living without electricity for over a month.
OUR GOAL:
Our goal is to bring at least 200 LuminAID solar lights in our luggage, on our flight to Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Once we arrive we will personally distribute the lights that you contributed, and it will be given to them from you. We will be documenting our journey so when we return, you can see that your contribution made a difference.
IF WE EXCEED OUR GOAL:
If you help us exceed our goal by spreading the word, we can certainly bring triple that amount in our luggage!

About LuminAID's Give Light Get Light Program
1.6 billion people around the world lack proper access to electricity. Many of these people are forced to rely upon dangerous, toxic, and expensive kerosene lanterns as their primary source of light. Through our Give Light, Get Light program, we partner with NGOs and non-profits all over the world to distribute LuminAID lights to individuals who will greatly benefit from a safe, rechargeable light source.
