LuminAID Completes and Exceeds Kickstarter Goal for New Phone-Charging Gear
With this goal in mind, the Kickstarter for the PackLite Max 2-in-1 Phone Charger included several humanitarian packages for backers to show their support for refugees. LuminAID also announced in the midst of the campaign that they would donate 1,000 solar lights to families in need if the Kickstarter reached $200,000--a goal which was easily met.
Providing Relief to Families in Haiti after Hurricane Matthew
As news of the devastation in Haiti becomes apparent in the wake of Hurricane Matthew, LuminAID and our charitable partners are working to help those affected by the storm who are in need of safe, sustainable lighting. LuminAID Announces Partnership with American Foundation for Children with AIDS
Recognizing the need for versatile aid to help families living with AIDS in developing countries, LuminAID is proud to announce a partnership with American Foundation for Children with AIDS (AFCA). The solar start-up will be showcasing the work of AFCA supporting children and families with AIDS in Africa. In addition, LuminAID will be focusing the effort of their Give Light Get Light program on donating lights to AFCA’s work in Kenya, Uganda, and Nepal.
Karam Foundation Delivers LuminAID Lights and Smart Aid to Displaced Syrians
As of January 2016, more than 3 million Syrian children were internally displaced. They need the basics. For Syrian families, aid is not always accessible and rarely sufficient. Even when food and water are provided, other essential needs are left unmet. This is where the Karam Foundation comes in. Their Smart Aid initiative focuses on responding to the local population’s needs by asking one simple question: "What do you need?" Their answer: Light!
