New York based exclusives line Supreme launches a partnership with LuminAID to create distinctive solar lanterns that shine red with the Supreme logo. The new lights feature a red-tinted body, red strap and USB port, and Supreme + LuminAID co-branding. The Supreme + LuminAID lanterns are available in Supreme stores starting February 15th, 2018 and will launch online on February 22nd. There is a limited number available.
A nod toward movers in sustainable design, the collab shows Supreme's eye for high-utility products in a number of different industries. The continuing crossover with the outdoor industry is also notable with this collection. LuminAID solar lanterns are popular among campers and outdoor adventurers, which pairs well with Supreme's ongoing collaborations with outdoor gear brand The North Face.
Though nestled among an eclectic collection for Spring/Summer 2018, the Supreme partnership with LuminAID--a women-owned startup with an extensive program for disaster relief-- is a statement as an optimistic perspective on the potential for the positive social impact of brands.
LuminAID has designed custom printed lanterns for FedEx, National Geographic, ComEd, and ShelterBox among others. The custom printed lights are popular as corporate gifts, exclusive products, and customer thank you's. The Supreme collaboration is the most ambitious collaboration yet, with the wrap-around Supreme logo back-lit by the eco-friendly lantern.
